An Adult Amateur Production of

Jesus Christ Superstar

Lyrics by Tim Rice, Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber

MK Dons Sport and Education Trust and TM Theatrical (part of Events Managed) are today delighted to announce a brand new community project within the arts sector in Milton Keynes. Together, they will produce an amateur production by arrangement with The Really Useful Group Ltd of the classic rock opera JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber at Stantonbury Theatre from 17th to 20th September.

This project will serve not only to raise a significant amount of funds for the excellent work the MK Dons SET do, but will also aim to give up to 50 local people the opportunity to become involved in the arts, be it in a performing capacity or as part of our technical crew. Discussions are in place with local schools and colleges to work with this project to provide their performing arts and technical departments invaluable experience in the world of live theatre.

Anyone over the age of 16 is welcome to come and audition for a role in the show on Sunday 22nd June at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel at stadiummk and can register their place on the Events Managed website. There will be no show fee for those people that are cast in the show or recruited to be part of the technical or backstage teams but they will be asked to fundraise for the Charity via an online site such as Justgiving or Virgin Giving.

Director Thomas Cove said of the project: ‘This is a fantastic opportunity to do a huge amount of good work and outreach within our local community. Having worked in amateur and youth theatre across the South-East for a number of years, I know that there are people of all ages who haven’t yet had the opportunity to showcase their talents, or simply try something new. For those who want to be involved with a great cause such as MK Dons SET, I’d encourage anyone with the performing bug to audition for this timeless show!’

MK Dons SET Business Development Manager Stefanie Duffy said: “This is a perfect way for the SET to expand the range of its activities, engage with more of the community and raise money all at the same time. So, we would urge everyone to have a go and turn up on the 22nd June for the auditions and find that inner performer!”

Auditions for the project will be at DoubleTree by Hilton, stadiummk on Sunday 29th June from 9am. Tickets for the show are available now from www.stantonburytheatre.co.uk
